Transformed! (The Bridge)
It definitely feels like things are winding down for us, but what a great week it's been! Today we worked at the C-Quest base doing some odd jobs and getting the base ready for the next team to come tomorrow night. We took a break from the work to pick some coconuts from some trees that are at the base. Derek (one of the C-Quest staff) showed us how to chop the end of the coconut off with a machete. Then we stuck in a straw and enjoyed some fresh coconut water! Apparentl

Wow! (The Bridge)
It is hard to believe we have been here only five full days, as every day has been full of activity and new experiences. I knew we would be doing mini programs but didn't know I'd be part of a song and dance chorus, a play, and doing performance art (a chalk illustration of Blondine the tightrope artist crossing Niagara Falls!) The team feels like a large family now and it is wonderful having three generations living and working together and caring for one another. It is als

Camp John 3:16 (The Bridge)
Today was an exciting day! We had the opportunity to work at a camp called "John 3:16" that is just in its early building stage. It’s owned by a man name Gama and he has quite a wild testimony. We were at the camp painting on the inside of the building in this multi-purpose room that is going to be used for many things, for example dining and sleeping. They could hang hammocks all around the room for the beds, which I thought was really interesting. We worked there until lun

God's Plans (The Bridge)
Today was our first day full of working in the community. We started by painting a few walls and ceilings at a church and the afternoon we ran our first program. As we went around the table sharing our “highs” from the day, I was struck by the fact that when we pulled into a park to run our program there was not a kid to be seen. By the time we were sharing the Gospel through our drama and then Eli giving an invitation to accept Christ, we had 34 people in the park and on the
We've Arrived (The Bridge)
18 Hrs of Travel, but we made it safe. The only hiccup was getting stopped at mexican baggage and had a sandwich confiscated. We also were able to enjoy our first Taco’s at a little stop half way between Cancun and Progreso. While it was unsure ground for a couple of the kids, everyone enjoyed their feast in the end. When we arrived in Progreso about 10 pm, we were treated to some great hospitality by our hosts and enjoyed a delicious late night snack before heading off to be

A Day of Learning (The Bridge)
Day one was a day full of learning. We trained and learned our program. It has us, singing, dancing, acting, drawing, puppeteering and even balloon animal sculpting. But in addition to learning the program we got to have a cultural orientation. We went into the city to learn and experience local culture. Off we went on a mini-scavenger hunt, along the way my team was helped by everyone from a police officer to restaurateur. Everyone who we asked was eager to help us learn abo
