Westpointe Church - Day 5
After breakfast we piled into the vans and headed to Camp John 3:16. We joined in with the teen camp by playing hockey,, soccer and British bulldog. C-Quest donors paid to have a pool built there recently so after the games we all got to jump in the pool with the campers and play some pool games. We were blessed to see how friendly and open all the teens were to playing games with us and there were definitely some laughs. We had a delicious lunch at the camp and then we had to say goodbye to the teens.
Once we got back to the hotel, we went to our rooms to rest and prepare for the ministry ahead of us. In the evening we went to Alpha and Omega church in Merida to minister with pastor Carlos. This was a new C-Quest partner so we were all excited and anticipating what to expect. All the kids were super friendly and welcoming and it was really nice to play hula hoop games while some of the other team members played floor hockey with them. We did songs with actions, a drama play, puppet show, a gospel illusion, and Olivia and I did a chalk art drawing. We made Gospel bracelets and balloon animals for the kids.
The kids all seemed really excited and friendly for us to be there and they all seemed really interested in the message we shared with them. We found out later that most of the children who came had never attended their church, and were from the community. Overall I think it was a great experience for the team, as well as the Alpha and Omega church.
