Westpointe Church - Day 3

After breakfast we headed to Progreso for a scavenger hunt and beach evangelism. The scavenger hunt helped us get familiar with the area and use our Spanish reaching out to locals for help when we needed it. Evangelizing on the beach consisted of handing out cold waters, tracts, and Spanish New Testaments to people. Following the beach evangelizing we got the opportunity to swim in the ocean for a while. We had lunch at Pollo Brujo and ate some really delicious tacos. After lunch we went back to our hotel in Merida for siesta time where everyone had a good nap to refresh for our children’s ministry evening in a poor community called Hunucmá. The ministry included a hotdog supper with watermelon, juice, chips and cookies. As part of the children’s entertainment there was a drama, chalk art, Drime, puppet show, illusion, and songs. We ended off the night with handing out balloon animals and activity sheets. Overall a very fulfilling day and God’s love really broke through the hearts of our team and the people we ministered to.
