Day 27 – Final Day in Mexico! Wow, it’s hard to believe that our time in the Yucatán is over already. We have spent these last two days reflecting on what God has done in and through us over the last four weeks. So much has happened. So much to praise and thank God for. We have also spent the last two days saying goodbye to people who have become dear to us. Many tears have already been shed. More to come as we leave C-Quest tomorrow. Yesterday afternoon we spent time alone w

Day 25! It has been so incredible to experience living in Mexico during these past few weeks, and we praise God for many things! Bringing us through the heat with strength, energy, and health is just one example of the ways that God has provided for our team. In many ways, living in Mexico has gotten so familiar to us that it will be somewhat hard to transition back into life in Canada. It's surprising how fast we were able to adjust to living here! Now we've been here long e

Day 23! This morning Shanyn shared a devotion with the team from Psalm 95. It was a good reminder of God’s greatness and how thankful we should be for what he has done for us. We each shared one thing that we were thankful for. It was a great time of encouragement looking back on what God has done for us. After breakfast the team split up to do a few work projects. Some of the guys went to a nearby neighborhood to help with a building project. The rest of the team stayed back

Day 21 in Mexico! It is wild to think that are time in Mexico is three-quarters of the way done. If you have been following our blogs, you will know that God has done some pretty amazing things. I cannot help but marvel at the mercy of God for what He has accomplished during our time down here. God is so deserving of our worship. And that is precisely how we began our day today. David, along with Calum, led some worship songs to prepare our hearts for the day. I really apprec

Day 20! I think it’s safe to say that our team was greatly impacted by the events we had today. We started off early serving breakfast at The Home of Grandparents, a sort of ‘orphanage’ for abandoned seniors. The place is run by a sweet lady named Estela who has been caring for needy seniors for 39 years, with her main source of provision being prayer and faith in God. After breakfast we did part of our program, then painted nails and made balloon animals for them. There I me

Good evening… here’s our team blog for Day 19. Hello family and friends… a big shout out to all you moms who are following and praying for us. Happy Mother’s Day!!! This morning started by sitting on the patio with the Bible and a great cup of coffee. By 6:30 a.m. the sun had just come up, and it was already a humid 24C at that point. No jackets or sweaters required. Following our team breakfast (mom’s had the morning off), we had the opportunity to head to Mérida to join ano

It's crazy to think that it's already day 18 here in Progreso! Time has flown by and I couldn't be more excited about the many ways I have seen God move. This morning after breakfast we headed to a boys rehabilitation camp to perform our program. It was a different atmosphere than what we were used to; the audience being all teen boys, and only about 10 of them. Although our program is more tailored towards a younger audience, it was very neat to see how God still captivated

Day 17! Today was another very full day – just like we have experienced throughout most of this week – doing a couple different work projects. We finished off the new roof we had been working on for the past two days at a home in Progreso, which was in desperate need of something to keep the water out for the upcoming rainy season. It was great to be able to help these people and show the love of Christ to them in this way. Also, it was very cool to interact with them, and th

Day 16! Well, we've passed the halfway mark of being here in Progreso. God has challenged, comforted, strengthened, and taught all of us in such personal ways these past two weeks. The way our team has continued to come together and work as one unit on this trip, has been a continuous answer to prayer. This morning Mike led us in devotions. He reminded us of our depravity before Jesus and how wretched our flesh really is. However, through the cleansing blood of Jesus, He has

Day 14! Today marked the halfway point of our time here in Mexico. It feels like we just got here. Yet thinking back, there is so much we have been able to accomplish during our time so far. Today we finished our home makeover on Pastor Miguel and Alicia's house. It has been such a blessing to be able to serve them in this way. They are a couple who continually pour out the love and care they have into others’ lives, without expecting anything in return. It was such a blessin
