Dalhousie Church Day 2
In the morning, we started with breakfast and devotions. This was also our first day performing the program, so we had to learn our plays and music to show off our great skills to the church's around Merida. We learned how to make bracelets to tel the Gospel story, some music in Spanish and the actions to the songs, and much more. We learned a program about Adam and Eve, and performed a couple of skits about a little boy and a little girl getting tempted to make the wrong choice, but choosing to do what's right. We also performed a drama, a puppet play, chalk art, and a gospel illusion.
In the afternoon, we had a quick swim in the hotel pool and a nap in our rooms before heading to a very poor city, Hunucmá, to prepare and serve a hotdog dinner for the locals. After that, we presented our first program. Ricardo is the pastor there who has started to build a church in that community. The church has no windows, no roof, and no floor, yet they meet there each week to worship. After we performed our program, we made balloon animals for the kids and gave them bracelets that explained the story of Salvation. Finally, we handed out hygiene packages to all of the young kids and said good-bye.
