Day 2 - July 22, 2019

Hola Amigos!

This morning we did a scavenger hunt around the main street and centre of Progreso! So interesting seeing such a different but beautiful culture. The people are friendly, and very willing to try and answer any questions you have, even when you can't speak Spanish ( I can say "hola", and "gracias" pretty well, if I do say so myself). This afternoon we prepared for our program by rehearsing songs, dramas, a puppet play, a memory verse and a Drime for the kid'

s camps this week. It was amazing seeing everyone participating and learning all these roles to teach the kids about Jesus. I love seeing how things such as dance, music, and body language are such a universally understood thing, so we can still communicate with everyone without being fluent in Spanish. So cool!! It was great seeing God bring us closer and building a stronger connection with us as we worked together. Even though we spent a lot of the day working from the base, God's loving and peaceful hand was still visible and working. It was a wonderful experience! My heart is full! Oh, I also discovered a new passion of mine... making balloon art. Trust me. It's amazing. You should try it :)
